Composer and sound artist Hugh Livingston works for public and private clients creating immersive environments that combine art and functionality, enlivening spaces and eliminating noise pollution. Hugh has a degree from Yale in Computer Science and Music, and an MFA and PhD in Music. As a cellist, Dr. Livingston performed over 1,000 concerts worldwide, and recorded 27 CDs of living composers' music. Hugh has most recently been the artist-in-residence at the historic Dumbarton Oaks Gardens in Washington DC, and is writing about contemporary sound gardens and a lexicon of sound terms for garden design, part of a forthcoming volume from Harvard University Press. www.livingstonsound.com
