After pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah, I founded Karpiel Design in 1992 and proceeded to develop and produce unique mountain bikes for the next 15 years. Karpiel bikes have been featured in television science programs (Next Step, Extreme Machines), and films (Down, Double Down, New World Disorder 1 &2), and video games (Sony Playstation 2, Downhill Domination). After several ups and downs in the bike business, I sold the product line to Duncon in 2007 and founded Gravity Coaster.
