www.kalkarman.com, Born and raised in the Silicon Valley, and based in Italy since 2000, Kal’s reel of fashion and beauty brands has a mix with visual effects. After film degrees from U.C. Berkeley and NYU, Kal began as an assistant cinematographer in Los Angeles. He then shifted gears to post-production at Industrial Light & Magic (”Star Wars the Phantom Menace,” “Magnolia,” & “Celebrity”). A move to Europe brought with it a new concentration as an Editor. In 2002 Kal grew into directing dozens of music videos, documentaries and commercials. Kal has lensed celebrities such as James Franco, Shakira, Li YiFeng (China), Janice Man (China), Camila Pitanga (Brazil) and Francesco Timi (Italy), and has been trusted by Armani, Gucci and Bvlgari. In 2011 he attended Stella Adler’s conservatory for acting in NYC. Kal is based in both Milan and Rome.
